Local Global Pastor – Maribel Toan

Position summary:

Reporting to the Local/Global Pastor, Director, will work collaboratively with the L/G Team to broaden the impact of Newsong’s focus on developing 3rd culture leaders and communities who love God and the misfits. This position requires an understanding of 3rd Culture leadership and its role with NS, the city of Santa Ana and our cause partners.
Salary based on experience.

Job description:


  • Mix Academy
  • Responsible for the overall development of volunteers and community of the Mix Academy
  • Work with Fiscal Sponsor (CVOC)
  • Create and implement structure / Funding opportunities.
  • Volunteer Management and recruitment
  • Coordinate food and kitchen staff/volunteers
  • Community Relations
  • Maintain a relationship with our community partners and continue to seek relationships with organizations that fit our Vision/Mission. Current partners are:

▪ Bracken’s Kitchen

▪ Young Lives

▪ Teen Leadership Foundation


  • Mobilize our church to get involved with our partners
  • Local/Global Operations
  • Oversee and manage the execution of the following initiatives and get the church involved with:

▪ Social Justice Initiatives

▪ Foster Care Ministry

  • To make sure that the structure for the above initiatives is in place
  • Building up leaders to help execute the initiatives
  • Community Development/Transformation
  • Gather volunteers and develop teams for initiatives


General Priorities 

  • Respond to emails and voicemails in a timely manner – within 24 hours
  • Weekly written summaries for supervisor {email once a week}
  • Weekly check-ins with team
  • Attend all staff events/gatherings and weekly staff meetings
  • Completion of LIVE Experience within probationary period
  • Documentation of the following playbook/manual for the role: learnings, evaluations, training/development courses, create systems, best practices
  • Utilization and guide volunteers to Leadership Pipeline and Havens for spiritual care and growth


METRICS {for 3-month probationary period in new/revised role}

Identify & meet with Mentor/s who will help develop your leadership & excellence on community engagement etc.



Practice weekly Sabbath/Rest at least one day a week, be a student of God’s Word.

Mentor who will keep you accountable & help develop your leadership on a monthly basis.

Read one book on leadership development per month.

Prioritize holistic Health & Wellness {physical/mental/emotional}.
