Maintenance Support
Position Title: Maintenance Support
Hours: Part-time, 14 hours per week, with additional hours as needed
Reports To: Facilities Manager
Position Summary:
Maintenance Support is responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, and safety of Newsong Church property. This role involves being a representative and liaison of Newsong Church with each of our ministry partners (i.e. Scholarship Prep School), church staff members and all ministry volunteers to ensure the success of Friday & Sunday activities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. General Maintenance
- Problem solve various maintenance and janitorial issues that arise
- Maintain cleanliness of campus including interior and exterior spaces. Various janitorial duties to keep campus free of litter, graffiti, and pests at all times
- Address needed projects throughout campus
- Perform various landscaping responsibilities
- Present suggestions regularly to improve the quality of the campus
- Includes setting up and tearing down of spaces, making sure facility looks clean and presentable
2. Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain inventory of janitorial supplies, restroom supplies, and ministry/dining supplies for “The Mix” and “Seeds and Sparks”. Purchase as needed.
- Work closely with janitorial staff on various projects, events, and routine maintenance
- Assist with shipping and receiving deliveries
- Assist office personnel with miscellaneous needs
- Support Newsong partners and organizations that use our campus
- Support building renovation projects and improvements

- Commitment to supporting the mission, vision, and values of Newsong Church
- Work a flexible work schedule including:
o Sundays from 7AM – 2:00PM
o Fridays from 9 AM- 4:00PM
o Weekly hours subject to change based on facilities such as events, activities, and maintenance needs. - Able to lift a 50 lb. load
- Comfortable working on ladders and lifts up to 15 ft high
- Strong interpersonal skills and able to maintain positive working relationships with staff members and tenants
- Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
- Detail and follow-up oriented
- Basic knowledge of computer systems including MS Office, internet, and email
- Adaptive and congenial under pressure
- Ability to operate standard maintenance equipment (i.e. ladders, lifts, carpet cleaner, etc.)
- Report to supervisor MJ Aguilar (Special Ops) for all questions, concerns and support.
