Many people wonder about prayer and ask soul-searching questions about prayer…

• What is the real purpose of prayer?
• What does it mean that, “prayer moves the hand of God?”
• Why are my prayers sometimes answered and other times they are not?
• Do I still need to pray, even if I don’t have “the gift of prayer?”

These and many more questions will be answered in this interactive workshop. We will examine some different modalities of prayer and how each one is an invitation from God to set into the intersection of the seen and unseen realms. This workshop promises to be a transformative experience for anyone who wants to learn how, “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16b, NIV)

About the Introduction to Prayer Workshop Presenter:

For the last 19 years Ed Salas has served as the Spiritual Formation Pastor at Newsong Church, a multi-site international church based in Santa Ana, CA. Ed is the author of the book, The Praying Church, Discovering What the Heart Longs for Through Prayer.

GOSPEL OF MARK – INDUCTIVE BIBLE STUDY

• This study is expressly for young adults (20’s to 40 years old)
• Eight Consecutive Sundays, January 21 – March 10

Daniel Allen has been a member of the Newsong Family since 2015, and currently serves on the worship team playing drums. He works with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship directing campus ministers who serve students at colleges and universities across Orange County. Daniel currently lives in Tustin with his wife Charissa, who is a Marriage and Family Therapist in Santa Ana, and their daughter Talia, who excels at being cute.

Daniel, why are you excited for this inductive scripture study at Newsong?

“A huge part of my job is creating spaces for young people to fall deeply love in with the Bible and allow scripture to impact their lives and relationships. I’m hoping that this will be a similar experience for our Newsong young adults. I’m excited for this gathering to be a space to meet new people and study the Bible in an engaging way.”

It’s a night of bringing our community together with live music, performances and competitions for both Best-tasting Salsa and Best Salsa Dancing – get ready to put your best salsa forward!

We’ll be featuring local vendors with arts, crafts, and food available for purchase. Basically, it’s like the ultimate Newsong date night where you can also get a head start on Christmas shopping, all happening under the magic of twinkle lights.

We are taking a learning adventure from November 18-26! The trip will be hosted by Peter & Patricia Dewit – we’ll be learning about the work Newsong Bangkok and our partners are doing, plus we’ll have King’s Table led by Teresa Kwon.

Join us the first Tuesday of every month from 6am to 7am for Prayer & Meditation. We’ll have a brief message and a time worship, as well as some space to pause, reflect and listen to God.

Baptism is about going public with your faith. If you’ve decided to say Yes to Jesus or want to recommit to following him, we’d love to help you take that step!

The first Sunday of every month, we’ll gather outside after service to celebrate this moment together. Whether you’re getting baptized or just want to cheer on those who are, it’s going to be an awesome family time.

This class is for 3rd to 5th graders who are interested in getting baptized. We hope to help kids discover and better understand God’s plan for their lives. A parent or guardian is invited to join!

This half-day event is a way to discover the big picture of God’s grand story through a fun, interactive Old Testament exploration. We believe that after diving in, each participant will be more passionate about reading the Bible because of a greater understanding about how all of the major themes and stories come together into a unified message. This opportunity can be an experience for the entire family (1^st graders – adults).

We are so grateful for the incredible supporters and partners who make everything we do at The Mix Academy possible. Together we’ve gotten to build a community that sees, cares and gives. We hope that all who attend The Mix Gala will walk away from the evening feeling inspired and encouraged by all The MIX is doing in and through the local community.
